Top Georgia lawmaker is against T-SPLOST

Chip Rogers, a Republican from Cherokee County, is the State Senate’s Majority Leader. He’s not convinced the entire list of projects for Metro Atlanta will make a big difference in road congestion.
“Does it relieve some traffic? Sure,” said Rogers. “But, does it relieve $7 to $8 billion worth of traffic? I don’t believe so.”

“When you build a project that you know has to be subsidized at 50, 60, 70 percent, at the end of 10 years, it still needs to be subsidized 50, 60, 70 percent. Some has to pay for that,” said Rogers. “Well, who’s going to pay for that?”
