This traditional, old fashioned, non-violent day of family fun is centered on the July 4th Celebration, and includes arts & crafts, entertainment, food concessions, carnival games, evening concert & fireworks at sunset. This would be an ideal event to distribute TLC literature after the parade ends until the fireworks start. If you can volunteer for a couple of hours (or any amount of time) during the afternoon or evening please email the times you would be available, and a meeting location and groups will try to be arranged. It would be great if volunteers could be present thru the entire day at the festival distributing literature.
If you have not attended this festival it is very large, well attended and encompasses all of Glover Park and many side streets.
Time slots:
1:00-3:00
3:00- 5:00
5:00-7:00
7:00- till the fireworks start.
Please indicate in your email if you would be willing to be a coordinator for a group in any time slot…
Please indicate if you will organize your own group of friends/relatives (with approximate times you can volunteer)
Suggestion: Many families/friends plan picnic’s and spend a large part of the day, or the whole day at the festival having fun, enjoying the concerts, food and fireworks… maybe, you could plan on celebrating this Independence Day at the square this year, and volunteer just a few hours out of the day for TLC
